The End of New York

Jean Kahler and Jessica Rowe’s The End of New York is an essential book about the New York that doesn’t show up in the color photo glossy guidebooks or from the second deck of a tour bus. Describing the literal end of New York on the south side of Staten Island, the book’s descriptions of Sandy Ground, its remaining country lane, and the cemetery where the oystermen of the 19th and early 20th Centuries are buried, it is a worthy successor to the work of Joseph Mitchell in the pages of ‘The New Yorker’. –Kevin Walsh, ‘Forgotten New York’ author and webmaster

Multimedia Worth

Multimedia Worth is an HIV-prevention intervention for drug-involved women on parole or in alternative to incarceration programs in New York state, created by the Columbia University School of Social Work Social Intervention Group and funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. I created video scripts introducing clients to a group of fictional women facing issues common to the intervention population, including monologues and scenes demonstrating the use of various problem-solving and conflict resolution techniques.
